Ever wanted to achieve that career title, climb that mountain or finally go on that trip? Can you live to 90yrs old with no regrets?
This weekend we will celebrate my Gran's 90th. She is a Superstar & the party will be Wild!
As we gear up to celebrate her birthday this weekend, I've been thinking a lot about what it means to live a life well-lived, and how to leave a legacy without any regrets.
Many of us have ambitions we hope to achieve, such as advancing our careers, starting a business, finding love, getting fit, or cultivating positive habits. However, despite our best intentions, many of us struggle to achieve our goals.
In most cases, the root of our struggles can be traced back to limiting beliefs or fears that hold us back. To overcome these challenges, we need to identify the source of these beliefs and address them with truth and a more empowering or positive narrative.
One effective way to do this is to create a positive storyboard or vision board. Drawing from the analogy of a 90yr lifespan well lived, start by drawing a line on a piece of paper, with today's date on the left and your 90th birthday on the right.
Envision the legacy you want to leave behind on your 90th birthday, and then set achievable goals along the timeline to reach them.
To help you uncover and challenge your limiting beliefs, ask yourself the following questions as statements to speak out in quick succession, without pausing:
- "I THINK [....] is holding me back"
I THINK - the why you think your stuck
This question helps you identify the root of your limiting belief
- "Because I FEEL [....]"
I FEEL - the intuition that informed the why
This question taps into the intuition that informs that belief
- "What I WANT is to [....]"
I WANT - the desire that is not met.
This question clarifies your desire that's not being met
- "Because I BELIEVE [...]"
I BELIEVE - a root or conviction
This question uncovers your deep-seated conviction or belief that
underpins your mindset
By answering these questions, you'll be able to drill down to the core of your beliefs and identify any limiting or negative thought patterns that may be holding you back.
From here, you can replace these beliefs with truthful, or more empowering and positive ones.
So now, continue to ask, as statements in quick succession …
- "What I really WANT is to [....]"
I DESIRE - this question reaffirms your true desire the desire to
be met by the right pattern
- "Because I FEEL [....]"
I EXPECT - this question affirms your hopeful expectation
- "Because I BELIEVE [...]"
I KNOW - this question solidifies your conviction in a more
positive and empowering belief. The affirming or
acknowledging of truth as the sound root to plant as
component to your next step towards fruitfulness
While this process is simple, it can be very powerful in helping you overcome your limiting beliefs and achieve your goals.
